Compared to the last report, demand for hay in Idaho is still slow, There
has been lots of hay moving down the highways from previous contracts
and agreements but there hasn't been a lot of new sales in Idaho.
Idaho has seen some snow this past week and colder temperatures are supposed
to hit this upcoming week which could increase straw purchases
throughout the state.
According to the U.S.
Drought Monitor Website, The panhandle is under abnormally dry to moderate
drought, Western Idaho is under no dry soil moisture and the rest
of Idaho is under abnormally dry to moderate dry soil moisture.
According
to Idaho Department of Water Resources and NRCS, the snowpack
for Idaho is: Owyhee range 19% of median, Bruneau, Salmon Falls, Goose
Creek, Raft ranges are 51%-59% of median, Bear River, Blackfoot ranges.
